Round One, Week Two

Happy Monday everyone! Round one, week two is wrapping up, and we have more results to share. Two games this week were played with relative ease, while the other two were pretty close for much of the week. Chase kept changing his mind (that's what we get for asking a two year old his opinion), and Tracy didn't get any strong kicks from the baby in reaction to the games this week. So it all fell on us! Now let's break down the games:

Anderson's Choice - Boys
#8 Miles vs. #9 Conner
Winner: Miles

This 8-9 matchup was, as to be expected, a close one. Conner certainly tugged on Tracy's Irish heartstrings a bit this game, but Miles, which means mild, peaceful, calm (i.e., the complete opposite of this baby's older brother) got a bit of an advantage based on the idea that the name will make the child. Ok, maybe that's just Tracy's wishful thinking... Regardless, Miles moves on!


Other's Choice - Boys
#1 Brady vs. #16 Hans
Winner: Brady


Do we even need to explain how this game played out?

Anderson's Choice - Girls
#5 Paige vs #12 Juliet
Winner: Paige


This was actually a really good 5-12 matchup. Keith has been a Juliet fan since Baby A Name Tournament 2008 (the romantic in him?) but as the week went on, he acknowledged that Paige was growing on him. Tracy can see Paige going deep into the tournament, and ended up fully bringing Keith over at the last minute (literally, a few minutes ago). Paige moves on to Round two, where she will take on the winner of Claire and Lacey.

Other's Choice - Girls
#2 Madden vs #15 Courtney
Winner: Madden

Had Chase been a girl, his name would have been Madden. So it makes sense that she would take this 2-15 matchup with relative ease. That being said, don't expect all top seeds to keep winning. Tracy's starting to "get to know" this little one, and many names that have been favorites are starting to lose some of their luster. But enough of the sidenote, Madden moves on to take on Sadie...but you'll have to wait until June to find out the results of that one!
