Round One, Week Four

May is here! Flowers still aren't in full bloom quite yet (at least here in CT). Osama Bin Laden is buried at sea. And Tracy turned 31 this past week. Oh, and we played 4 games of Baby Madness!

A few notes:

1. Don't be discouraged if you are in the bottom....points double every round, so the later rounds are WAY more valuable than the 1st round. I'd venture to say that no one is quite out of the running this early on.
2. If you haven't submitted payment (or haven't contacted Tracy about arrangements), please do so.

Game Breakdown:

Anderson's Choice - Boys
#4 Tyler vs #13 Mason
Winner: Tyler

Mason is such a great name. Both of us like it better than Tyler, actually, but two things got in the way here. 1 - MaSON AnderSON
2 - Chase 'n Mason (say it outloud)
So, due to unfortunate combinations with both our last name and last tournament's winning name, our #4 seed Tyler moves on!

Other's Choice - Boys
#2 Cole vs #15 Michael
Winner: Cole

This was a bit of a no-brainer for us. Cole has always been a favorite of ours (and no, not because of the Phillies connection :)), and is a frontrunner in this Tournament. Michael was interestingly one of the 2 boys name's Tracy's parents had selected for consideration had been a boy. Perhaps that gave him an edge? Maybe initially...but then Tracy went and dated a lovely young man named Michael (I think I threw up a little typing that) and ruined it forever. Needless to say, Cole moves on to Round 2.

Anderson's Choice - Girls
#1 Lucy vs #16 Tahlia
Winner: Lucy

We won't get into the specifics of why Tahlia was knocked off this round. Let's just say last night's dinner conversation about the name had to do with Russia and human trafficking. Not pleasant. Or appropriate. Tracy's unsure has to how long she will be able to convince Keith that Lucy is a viable name for their child (he is fighting it every step of the way), but at least she makes it past the number #16 seed and on to Round Two.

Other's Choice - Girls
#4 Olivia vs #13 Mackenzie
Winner: Olivia

First, a shout out to our niece, who submitted the name Mackenzie to the tournament this year. It's a good name...some of our best friends are named Mackenzie (ok, just one, but that would have been far less dramatic). Unfortunately, she's a good enough friend that while the association is positive, it is too strong. Olivia moves on!
