Our Elite Eight is set...and that means only one more week of true Baby Madness! Next week we will bring the selections down to the Final Four, and then the waiting game for Baby A2 starts. Although next week will certainly prove the hardest....this week was NOT easy by any means. Be prepared for some surprises...although, we are finding that our seeding was fairly accurate, and that the tournament has played out like an actual NCAA tournament. Which is the whole point, after all!
Keep in mind that points still double 3 more times (final 4, final 2, and champion), so a lot of you are likely still in the running. Also keep in mind that there is no option for "points possible" using this software (our apologies) so some of our leaders may not actually be leaders if their final names don't match.
Point is - rankings are helpful, but aren't everything at this point!

Anderson's Choice - Boys
#3 Wyatt vs. #10 Carter
Winner: Wyatt
The elimination of Carter follows in line with the reason we eliminated Parker. Frankly, we're just over the "er" names. This 10 seed made it far in the tournament, and we are glad he held his own. But 3 seed Wyatt pulls out the win this week and will take on 1 seed Colby next week for a spot in the Final Four.
Other's Choice - Boys
#1 Brady vs. #4 Benjamin
Winner: Brady
We have two 4-1 games this week, and on the boys side, the 1 seed takes it. While we really like the name Ben, Brady has been a favorite since the Baby A Tournament 2008, and he manages to take down Ben in this "Battle of the B-names." Stay tuned for when Brady plays 2 seed Cole next week.
Anderson's Choice - Girls
#1 Lucy vs. #4 Claire
Winner: Claire
Yes, we can hear the collective gasp now. In our second 4-1 showdown, longtime favorite Lucy is narrowly defeated by 4 seed Claire. This week, Claire grew on us. It is a simple, feminine name that just seems to "fit" in our family. It will definitely take some time for Tracy to get over this one (although it was truly a completely mutual decision), but we are feeling good about this call. Claire moves on to take on 2 seed Lily for a spot in the Final Four.
Other's Choice - Girls
#6 Hailey vs. #2 Madden
Winner: Hailey
Cue the second collective gasp. In a big upset this week, one of our 2 seeds sees her final game in this tournament. As we've mentioned, we love the idea of using "Maddie" for a nickname, but with the popularity of Madeline and Madison, there are just going to be too many Maddie's for our little one to have to share with. Hailey has also grown on us this tournament, and we are excited to see her move on. She has a tough matchup against Charlotte in the next round, and we're both already gearing up for a tough battle this week!
